Hackbridge Community Garden Party

Claudio Funari - Brazilian artist, local resident and creator of the Hackbridge Community Gardens - is holding a garden party on Sunday August 5, between 10am and 5.30pm.

All are welcome - the community gardens are located on the banks of the River Wandle, next to the Hack Bridge on the B277 (Hackbridge Road).

Big Bang: Music and More

Big Bang: Music and More are running a summer school at the BedZED Pavilion from Tuesday August 28 to Friday August 31, between 9am and 4.30pm.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore science, try out piano or singing lessons, investigate nature with Go Wild With Us, and be involved with daily choir rehearsals.

Wandle Fortnight 2018

This year's Wandle Fortnight will take place between Saturday September 8 and Sunday September 23.

It is an opportunity to celebrate the River Wandle and its surroundings - "a celebration run by the community, for the community".

Last year there were over 70 events and activities across the fortnight - if you have an idea for this year's celebrations, are looking for inspiration, or simply want to know more about the Wandle Fortnight, visit, or take a look at this newsletter.

All registered events and activities will be included in the Wandle Fortnight programme and receive free promotion and publicity.

Spencer Road Wetlands Open Days

Spencer Road Wetlands in Hackbridge is holding several open days over the summer, as follows:

  • Saturday August 11
  • Saturday September 15

The wetlands will be open to the public on the above days between 11am and 1pm. Entrance is at the corner of Spencer Road and Wood Street.

Hackbridge Community Cinema

At 2pm on the first Wednesday of each month All Saints Community Centre in Hackbridge hosts the Hackbridge Community Cinema.

Entry is free although donations are welcome, and refreshments are available during the interval.
